Nexon - MapleStory 2 screenshot spotted

While going through a Japanese gaming website for news, I chanced upon the latest financial reports for Nexon. While it is indeed strange for a Korean-based company to have its full financial information on a Japanese website, 2 gems were discovered. Can you find them in the picture below?

Yes, the pictures actually shows what the studios under Nexon are working on, with Wizet showing a preview of MapleStory 2 and DevCat showing a new screenshot of Mabinogi 2. I know the resolution ain't ideal, but hey, it is a find after all :) Other info in the picture shows how many staff each studio has, with the recently purchased Ndoors tops with 205 employees.

Financial wise, Nexon's 2011 sales increased by 26% compared to 201, while revenue increased by a whopping 27%. Strangely, there is no mention of GameHi, another studio which Nexon acquired recently.

Rumor - Mabinogi II reveals 5 characters

According to Korean media ThisIsGame, Nexon is set to reveal the 5 playable classes found in Mabinogi II. This event, called "BORDERLESS", is being held by Nexon to display the various artwork from the company's games. In the short teaser trailer below, 5 classes resembling a mage, archer, warrior, bard and an unknown class is shown sitting around a campfire.

BORDERLESS will begin at the end of this month, lasting a total of 20 days in Dosan Park Art Gallery, Seoul.

Mabinogi II - New artwork revealed

(Source) Nexon Korea, which is holding the annual Nexon Developer Conference (NDC) currently, has revealed new artwork for Mabinogi II. The sequel to Mabinogi, the game was revealed to be in development since early last year. So far, only the technology used for creating the game was introduced. Personally, I am hoping more of Mabinogi II and MapleStory 2 will be revealed at G*Star 2011 later in November. The first 3 artwork portrays Morrighan, Macha and Neamhain, also known as the 3 Badhbh Cath Goddesses. You can see other returning characters as well including Cichol.

Mabinogi 2 - New technology sighted

Well, I can't think of any awesome heading for this post, so this current one will do. But still, Mabinogi 2's new engine, called the Helper-Joint. The system was built from the bottom by the skillful developers over at Nexon Korea, and they were present at GDC 2011 to give a speech about it. Sometime back, I can't remember which game show was that, the team gave a similar presentation as well, but not so in-depth.

The pictures are courtesy of premier gaming website, This Is Game, and I shan't translate the text as the presentation slides pretty much explain themselves. This is like someone's science project!

[G*Star 2010] Nexon prepares for the show

With G*Star 2010 coming in around 2 weeks' time, the various MMO companies are starting to display graphics on how their booths will look like. For today, it will be Korean gaming giant. Nexon Corporation's turn. In terms of the games lineup, it is kind of disappointing in my own opinion. Only 4 MMOs will be on show, mainly Mabinogi Heores (I guess it will be to officially reveal the new character, below), Dungeon Fighter (new chapter again?), MapleStory and of course, Ndoor's mysterious MMO based on the 3 Kingdoms novels

I am really surprised there isn't any teaser for possible new information on either of their upcoming sequels, MapleStory 2 and Mabinogi 2, but I guess we shall see if Nexon decides to spring a surprise for all of us.

Nexon - Sequels on track

On 5th February 2010, Nexon opened a New Year Press Conference to highlight the year of 2009's financial earnings and the road ahead for 2010. With a great financial record to show the industry, Nexon's earnings in Japan and Europe has grown 95% and 150% respectively. Overall, overseas markets accounted for two thirds of the company's overall earnings.

For 2010, Nexon will be focusing on updating present games, while also releasing Mabinogi Heroes, Ever Planet, Nexon Star (social game), Hot Blooded Three Kingdoms (web game) and Dragon Nest.

Nexon also confirmed that both Mabinogi 2 and MapleStory 2 are currently in smooth development, so players can expect some official news at the end of 2010.
