RIFT Korea – 49 levels of free gameplay to save title

RIFT Korea, in a supposed desperate attempt to save sliding player numbers, has announced that the game’s first 49 levels will Free-to-Play for everyone, with no content restriction starting from 20th November.

It seems that the campaign held 4 months back did not manage to effectively produce the required results.

Pay-to-Play titles have been on a slide since the emergence of Free-to-Play titles, with only World of Warcraft still holding a frequent top 15 spot.

TERA Korea was the first to go for free content up till a certain level, while in the past, games such as Age of Conan and Warhammer Online has failed terribly in Korea.
