Blade & Soul - Some Closed Beta 1 footage

Before I continue, I will like to declare that these footage are NOT from me. They are gotten from various random Korean gamers who are lucky enough to get into the game. After evaluating with my friends and colleagues via the videos, we all basically liked the game, but the only sticking point is the combat. While not searching for something totally new, we are dreading the cursed "target pointer". Well, to each his own, I can only comment more when I get to try the game myself. More videos can be found over at my YouTube channel. Have fun watching!

I'm having real problems stopping myself from jumping up and down while screaming maniacally: "I told you all!!!"

There's no denying that the game is extremely pretty, and I admit that the very first trailer had impressed me a lot, but my doubts grew with every videos and articles that came out afterward. Especially since the long video interview with the developers that went roughtly like this: "We are awesome. This game is so unique! We have wonderful graphics and a ton of innovations and unique features like... a martial art themed world, and great graphics! It's so shock-full of great material like... Oh, it's just awesome. We are awesome. So awesome."

The game might turn out to be quite good, but by this point I think it's pretty obvious that it unfortunately won't be a "revolution" of the genre... And I do agree completely with the dreaded target pointer. It's especially bad in the last video: Locked target, with auto-hitting fireballs. That's unfortunately the same thing as we've been having for over a decate.

at least the girls are sexy

Ayra u so wrong, its not classic auto target, you need to see your target keeping it in focus with camera movements, its an hibrid system, and its completly new, the target mark is just informative, i.e. if any mob puts in front between u and the target u lose you target and get the closest one. Wait for tera and u will see what happens when u only hit at air in pvp all the time while playing with a mage.

Well keep in mind we're not playing an fps. I mean, we've got plenty of games to fit the niche you want, especially Tera. To be honest, I never liked that sort of twitch style gameplay, a lot of action games have a lock on system in the first place.

Now, I'm completely cool with point and clicks and this sort of style seems to fit me more than Tera. Now I only wonder how the game will make itself difficult without being too dependent on stats. Maybe it will be more like an action game.

Appreciate the videos ^^ Can't wait to see some bosses.

The auto-target system is not a point and click system, is more like Tera where you hit the mob in front of you, but you can also dodge, parry and so on. If you land a hit but the opponent is not in front of you or too far you miss.
So no, is not the classic TAB point and click game, is something new.

I personally agree with Ayra. When NCSoft first announced this game, they were making it sound like it was going to be a full-on action game, but rather it plays more like Mabinogi but with more flexible combat. I'm mainly disappointed by how the combat is based on contextual inputs rather than actual hit detection or space like with TERA or other action games. Sure, it's more engaging than most MMOs out there, but it's not nearly as impressive as it was when it was first announced.

where i can find a server with b&s

The most disappointing thing was the fact the fireball curved and followed the target... VERY disappointing.
